Each lesson begins with a generous amount of background material designed to refresh or enhance your knowledge of the subject matter. An assortment of sentence examples, diagrams, and practical teaching tips are included to help you learn and feel comfortable with the material before trying to utilize it.

ADJECTIVES 1

Intensifiers, adverbs that modify adjectives, are covered in the opening paragraphs of the Adjective Background Information section. Three annotated sentences show adverb intensifiers in action. The first of two common places adjectives appear in sentences is covered next, and three annotated example sentences illustrate and explain adjectives that appear before nouns.

ADJECTIVES 2

The second of two common places adjectives appear in sentences is covered next, and five annotated sentences illustrate and explain adjectives that appear after linking verbs. Common linking verbs like the forms of be and a number of linking verb forms that accompany predicate adjectives exclusively, the "sense" verbs, are both featured in the five predicate adjective example sentences.
